25 Ways to Simplify Your Life

Back in the beginning of 2020, right before the pandemic, I came across the following list of item that I wanted to implement in my life. The goal was to apply them slowly to my life as a way towards getting into a better head space. I have notes on how that was going through March… and then things changed.

  1. Set monthly goals
  2. Carry a water bottle everywhere
  3. Declutter your closet
  4. Write email to-dos on paper
  5. Follow a quick morning routine
  6. Pack an on-the-go kit
  7. Use the 50/30/20 budget rule
  8. Invest in a crock pot
  9. Start a capsule wardrobe
  10. Unsubscribe from emails
  11. Make your lunch the night before
  12. Get a purse organizer
  13. Switch to cloud storage
  14. Plan your workouts
  15. Always have vinegar at home
  16. Listen to podcasts and audiobooks
  17. Quit opening so many tabs
  18. Fold your clothes so they stand upright
  19. Create a follow-up email folder
  20. Keep healthy snacks at your desk
  21. Buy multi-tasking products
  22. Start using IFTTT
  23. Have 10 basic items in your wardrobe
  24. Write your to-do list before bed
  25. Slow down

Breaking this down, I had decided that I want to write more as a monthly goal and trim my social media presence down to a few small spots. Other stuff was geared toward day to day fitness and health issues. The writing goal more or less was going to die even before the pandemic and ‘easy to carry with me’ became less of a concern when I was working from home every day.

I am putting this out here now though because as we prepare to move into a new house where I will be working from home every day, it is worth looking at for the long term and deciding which of these are applicable and which can be kicked to the curb.
